Padel tournament FAQs

We are looking forward to hosting you on Saturday 6th of April 2024 at Riverside Sports Club!

Here is a little FAQs where you will find all the information needed.


1. How do I register for the tournament?

To register for the padel tournament, please visit our official website kiwipadel.com and navigate to the "Registration" page. Follow the instructions provided to complete your registration.


2. What are the eligibility criteria for participation?

The tournament is open to players of all skill levels, but participants must be at least 18 years old. All players are required to adhere to the rules and regulations of the tournament.

Each teams must have one female and one male player.


3. Is there a registration fee?

Yes, there is a registration fee of NZD $80 per team ($40 per player) to participate in the tournament. The fee covers court reservations, tournament organisation, and other related expenses. Please refer to the registration page for specific details on the fee structure.

FREE for visitors/supporters but a “visitor ticket” is required to prepare the day at best. Get your tickets here.


4. Can I sign up as an individual, or do I need a doubles partner?

Participants are encouraged to register as doubles teams. If you do not have a partner, you can join our community whatsapp group to meet other players and find your partner for the tournament. It is a good idea to play a game or two with your new partner.

5. What equipment do I need to bring?

Participants are encouraged to bring their own padel racquets and comfortable active wear/shoes. The tournament organisers will provide the official balls for the matches and racquets for participants who don’t have one.


6. How is the tournament format structured?

The tournament will follow a group phase with 16 teams split in 4 groups and elimination phase with the 2 top teams of each group, ensuring multiple opportunities for each team to compete. Each team will play a minimum of 3 games over the tournament, match schedules and brackets will be communicated in advance.


7. What is the schedule of the tournament?

The detailed schedule of the day, including match timings and court assignments, will be published on our website and shared with participants via email closer to the tournament date.


8. Are spectators allowed?

Yes, spectators are welcome to attend the tournament. There may be designated areas for spectators, and we encourage friends and family to come and support the players.

9. Is there a car park available for spectators and players? 

Riverside Sports Club has limited car park space, however, there is plenty of public on-road car park space along Dunkirk Road.


10. Are there prizes for the winners?

Yes, there will be prizes awarded to the winners of the tournament. The prize details will be announced before the tournament begins.


11. What happen if weather conditions are not our side for the tournament

We are hoping that Auckland will treat us well on that day, in the event of rain and/or strong winds, we will move the event to the following Sunday 7th April as a first option, and if this is not an option. The tournament will be rescheduled for another day in the following weekends. In this case, all the information will be shared in our social media.
